The Kindle Fire is a tablet/e-reader that features a 7" IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass, a 1Ghz CPU, 512MB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, free Amazon Cloud Storage, Wi-Fi (no 3G), The Fire is based on Android (with access to Amazon's Appstore). There's no camera or microphone. It does include a 30-day trial of Amazon's Prime streaming service.
