Barnes & Noble releases their eReader application for the iPadBarnes & Noble released their eReader application for Apple's iPad, and Engadget has posted a short review. The Application allows Nook users to download most of their content to the iPad, and there's a bookshelf view with jacket art and a library search function. As with the Nook and other B&N clients, the iPad client supports LendMe for certain titles, but there's no in-app purchasing.

The new software adds social network sharing (Facebook and Twitter), improved ebook organization tools (Collections feature) and more. Amazon are also boosting the number of fonts on offer, promising sharper clarity and two new larger sizes, along with adding the ability to “zoom into PDFs and pan around to easily view small print and detailed tables or graphics.” The new upgrade is released for both the Kindle and the Kindle DX towards the end of May.
Amazon to release Kindle for Android in the summerAmazon has confirmed that they are working on Kindle for Android. It'll be ready by the summer, and will work for Android v1.6 or higher. The software will enable search, browse, and purchase e-books from Amazon's store.
