ColorPVI's chairman promises color E Ink products by the end of 201006/10/2010PVI's Chairman Scott Liu says that products that use color E Ink displays are expected by the end of 2010. This is earlier than previous PVI estimates. The color panels are currently sampling to customers, but no definitive partnerships have been made public. via E-Reader-Info Delta is showing their 13" color e-reader, to reach the market in December 201006/03/2010Delta electronics is showing their upcoming color e-reader, and they hope to release it in December 2010. It has a 13.1" color display, based on Bridgestone's e-paper technology. The e-reader supports pen input. Delta claims that the display's refresh rate is faster than in E Ink displays.

Fujitsu are making their own color e-paper displays. They expect to launch a device based on this sometimes in 2010. There's not a lot of technical details... Back in March 2009, Fujitsu launched their Flepia color e-reader in Japan. Beside the 8" (1024x768) touch color display it had Wi-Fi and an SD card slot and it used Windows CE 5.0. via Slashgear Qisda to resume e-paper mass production in June, plans color displays in 201104/12/2010Digitimes reports that Qisda expects to resume production issues in June (it had some panel material and manufacturing process problems). The problems did not effect orders, and they still expect to ship 500,000 to 700,000 e-paper displays in 2010. Qisda will roll out a 9" e-reader in May and will begin color e-paper sample shipments in December - with volume production in 2011. Qisda's color e-paper technology uses a CF-less technology. |
