No iBooks for the iPad in France?

Update: It seems tha the iBooks application will only be available in the US... it's not just France that will be missing this. 

Our friends over at actualitte.com say that Apple's upcoming iPad will not include the iBooks app when sold in France, because of copyright issue. It's not clear whether iPad owners will be able to download the application from the AppStore after they buy it.
