The Intel Reader is aimed for the visually impaired: it can take photos of books (or newspapers) and then read them back. It includes a 5mp camera, runs Linux with a Optical-Character-Recognition software, and includes 2Gb of storage (which is about 600 snapshots). The reader can also play back MP3, WAV and text files. It can play back the audio at varying speeds. The Intel Reader costs $1,499, and is now shipping. Via PCWorld.
