ASUS Eee Note to cost $230 and launch in Taiwan later this week

ASUS is set to launch the the Eee Note EA800 e-reader/note-taker in Taiwan later this week - for $6,999 NT (which is about $230 US). ASUS will later offer the Eee Note in Hong-Kong, Germany, Italy and Russia. In Q1 2011 it will become available in China and the US.

The Eee Note uses a monochrome LCD display (without backlight) that ASUS says it's one of the world's most accurate and sensitive note taking devices available (it can only be used with a stylus). It features a microSD slot and a 2mp camera, and battery life is said to be 10 hours.
