Amazon releases new firmware update to Kindles, offering native PDF support and a 85% battery boost

Amazon has released a new firmware updates for the Kindle, offering native PDF support and a battery boost of 85% (!). They say that this upgrade is a result of a six month development and testing program. New Kindle 2 and DX devices will include this new version from now on, and Amazon say they will push to existing Kindle 2 users over the Whispernet (but we do not know when).
